EPICORE MSR
COMPOSITE FLOOR SYSTEM

Expanding upon the success and knowledge gained in over 30 years and several hundred million square feet of the original version Epicore deck, EPIC Metals and Infinity Structures introduced the new and improved EPICORE MSR Composite Floor System in 2001 (MSR = Multi-Story Residential). EPICORE MSR is a dramatic improvement when combined with the load-bearing metal stud wall panels to create The Infinity System. EPICORE MSR is a 2” deep, high performance, long span, composite metal deck that acts as both the permanent form and the positive reinforcing. EPICORE MSR has triangular dovetail shaped ribs at 8” on center that key up into the concrete for exceptional strength and span capability. The bottom flutes are completely closed, and every other rib has embossed locking lugs that enhance the interlocking bond between the concrete and the EPICORE MSR deck. These innovative design features combined with the flat bottom profile of EPICORE MSR makes it ideally suited for load-bearing metal stud wall panel applications because it inherently distributes loads uniformly over the metal studs (eliminating the need for expensive load-distribution devices or alignment of joists and studs). The EPICORE MSR System can clear span up to 25 feet with a 4” to 8” slab thickness utilizing 4,000 psi regular weight concrete. (3,000 psi or lightweight may be used if desired; Consult Infinity for details).

These improvements enable the Epicore MSR to achieve greater spans and loads creating a truly state-of-the-art composite floor system.  The Epicore MSR deck sheets are wider offering easier handling, less pieces to erect, less side lap connections to make, etc.  The new tooling and manufacturing line, more efficient use of material and reduced handling/packaging result in a significant cost savings versus the original version of Epicore deck.  Epicore MSR has it's own exclusive U.L. fire rating (D-938) that actually requires less slab thickness than the original Epicore.  The closed flutes virtually eliminate the concrete "dribble through" mess during the pour and ensures a much cleaner job.

With Epicore MSR, you may select one of many different ceiling treatments from hat channels and drywall to directly applying paint, popcorn texture, etc.

A big advantage of Epicore MSR versus other composite floor decks on the market is it's short delivery time.  Epic Metals' plant in Florida produces only Epicore MSR, so you do not get caught needing your floor deck and having to wait for the manufacturer to roll that particular profile.  This can easily happen with other decks and can be devastating to your schedule as well as very costly for the Owner, Contractor, Erector, and other sub-trades!
